When the popular band PMMP ended its successful run, it left in the Finnish pop music scene a void that’s difficult to fill. As a band, PMMP was much more than a two-woman-duo: it offered innovative and fresh pop tunes, rousing lyrics and, above all, phenomenal live performances, the likes of which haven’t really been seen in Finland since.
This documentary is a last look at the career of the band that had a big impact on Finnish pop and rock music, presenting them as a dynamic family. Paula Vesala and Mira Luoti don’t run the band all by themselves, but are supported by a group of professionals, family members and friends. Scenes from the final tours following the last studio album and from the production process of the compilation album might arouse sadness and longing in a fan, but any gloominess is soon vanquished by the energetic live performances that made PMMP one of the best loved Finnish bands of the 2000s.
