Matthias Leupold (born 1959) is a Berlin-based photographer and documentarist. He grew up in East Berlin, but his photograph exhibitions were too much for the authorities and in 1986 he moved to West Berlin in order to escape the threats of arrest. For Leupold staged photography is a tool to realize one’s own artistic intentions and the technical medium photography allows to either fixate or transform past and present.

DocPoint is screening Lighter Than Orange which is Leupold’s debut documentary.
